I have a lot of respect for anyone who agrees to sing the National Anthem in front of an audience. It is not an easy song to sing. I wouldn't want to do it.
But I wish some people (especially young people) would spend more time learning the words and practicing hitting the notes than they do trying to sound like Mariah Carey or some such nonsense.
Just sing it. Don't fancy it up.
